The Origin of Man and Woman

God creates man, and then woman out of man. Bonds were established.

In Genesis 2, God demonstrates HIS incomparable power by making man out of dust and with a breath of life in his nostrils. HE advised Adam not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil to avoid death. In addition, HE didn’t want the man to be alone and so, a comparable helper was granted. HE let Adam name the living creatures, including the one made by God with the man’s rib.

God is our creator, the true master. HE is omnipotent and a living God that gives life. If Adam and Eve didn’t eat the forbidden fruit, they might live on without death. Isn’t it awesome? Eternal life is possible as long as we follow God’s word.

The master and servant relationship was established for God creates us and we belong to HIM. It’s comforting to learn that God is a master of love. HE cares for our well-being and gives us the best. HE gave Adam the honor of naming other living creatures and a comparable helper, whom he called woman.

God is very considerate and delicate. HE emphasizes the help to man. So a sacred bond was granted, taking aim at Adam and his wife complementing each other. The man and the woman were from one flesh and they help each other to be one again, to achieve a more bountiful wholeness.

This marital bond, the most ideal one, begets other human relationships. We have father and mother, siblings, relatives, neighbors, friends and so on, enriching our life. Adam and Eve are the earliest ancestors.

Nowadays many people forget marital bond is the oldest relationship between humans, a scared one granted by God. They treat marriage too casual. When people don’t set their heart pure with abound love and righteousness in forming and maintaining their marriage, they go astray easily due to all kinds of temptations. Then, the marital bond will be contaminated, made fragile and broken up, yielding to misfortune and hurt rather than happiness and wholeness.

The two bonds aforementioned are noble themselves, aiming at human’s welfare. But many people do not obey God and violate the marital bond with wicked mind and evil doings. It’s definitely important to have these two precious bonds going back to the right track; otherwise, we cannot enjoy God’s grace and yield the utmost benefits.

Let’s pray to God:

“Glory to our heavenly Father, thanks for being our creator, true and kind master. Abundant in love and care, You concern our welfare and give the man a comparable helper to form a sacred bond. Pray that more people fully understand the truth of marriage and take it seriously by fulfilling their marital obligations. Please help the married couple be in one, loving, kind, royal and righteous to each other so that they can attain the utmost happiness. Amen.”

God is the Great Creator

Understand God’s omnipotence and our relationship with HIM. Give thanks to God.

In Genesis 1, we learned that God created the world. HE worked six days to complete the creation. When God said, “Let there be light”, there was light. God also blessed the living creatures to “be fruitful and multiply.” The world, so beautiful and rich, is created in such great power, within a short period and out of nothing.

Since we were born and opened our eyes, we see many things. Have you ever wondered where things come from? Many of us take things for granted. We don’t bother to find out who gives us this beautiful world to live in, not to mention thanking our Creator.

Think again, we humans need ingredients to cook a dish, wood or metal to make a bed. Even with advanced technology, we can’t create the same world out of nothing. God’s power is incomparable. HE is omnipotent.

Close your eyes and recall what you have done in the past six days. Some of us might complete a lot of tasks and met many deadlines. Others might have difficulty listing out their accomplishments as nothing seems worthy of mentioning. No matter how fruitful in those six days, none of our achievements is as awesome as the creation of God.

You may ask, “What’s good to know about our creator?” Through learning the truth that everything comes from God, we know the limitation of humans. The creator, our heavenly Father, is the true master. We must not ignore or go against God, but humble ourselves before HIM.

Be thankful to God all the time. Thanksgivings check our pride that has no solid ground; this prevents us from self-deceit, destruction to ourselves and others.

Everyone is equal; we all come from the same creator. We have the responsibility to maintain a harmonious relationship with God, other people, and living creatures in the world.

God is the only one. There is no other creator like our heavenly Father. Thus, don’t worship other gods and people. This will only make our true master angry. God is omnipotent. HE creates, and of course, HE has the power to punish and / or destroy us. Fear God and never go against HIM.

We may be wise, rich, and healthy. But this doesn’t mean we can think higher of ourselves and show no respect to others. Play fair and do not destroy lives. Should there be any disagreement, seek compromise so that everyone can live in peace with his neighbors.

The Earth is like one big home. We ought to protect our environment; minimize the pollution and exploitations to the world. Humans need a clean world to live in, so do other living creatures.

Let’s pray to God:

“Praise to our heavenly Father. Your creations are awesome. Please help us fear You, seek You, know You, understand You and love You, cherish all Your blessings and live in peace with prosperity in Your delight. Amen.”
